Some things are better in description, but the reality of this place exceeds description. I have lived in Japan and can vouch for the authenticity of this place. The classic lines, the use of wood and bamboo and tatami and paper; these are what I value most about Japanese architecture as well. And the presence of the 100% authentic “Hello Kitty” soaps made me laugh out loud!
The hosts are as special as the place – we greatly enjoyed discussion of things of mutual passion: Japanese language, vegetarianism, the state of the island and the world. It’s a lot cheaper than a trip to Japan and Mike’s elderly mother is only on her own one night, so this was a do-able adventure.
